2Men 1Cave – God Bless You
2Men 1Cave – God Bless You
The latest 2Men 1Cave – Episode 2 ask that time old question, why do many of us say God Bless You? Does every sneeze need some form of a blessing? Even in a different Language?
And if the sneeze doesn’t receive some sort of blessing, will it trigger some sort of “Welcome” mat for Demon’s and Evil spirits that will be able to entire our systems?
Or, perhaps we lose some Holiness that we were blessed from birth and every sneeze acquires a Gesundheit because we’re losing those blessings we were bore with?
And what if nobodies around when you sneeze to say God Bless You, what happens than? Are many of us doomed from the Al’Mighty because we didn’t get our blessing? Are blessings that powerful?
And in the event that they can be, should we give those up consequently so freely to strangers that might have just sneezed all over us? Saying Gesundheit to a stranger is more likely to giving us their freaking Cold or Flu for our blessings.
Maybe it originated during that horrible Black Plague era when any time you saw someone sneezing it was the first signs of the Death Plague.
And the only particular sympathetic thing a person could say to someone is “ God Bless You ” before you took off running in the opposite direction never planning on seeing that death snare of a person again.
Or possibly it stemmed from the Roman Empire era where the Romans lined up outside the main walls to the city’s entrance way with human crosses.
It had to of been heart aching walking into town having to pass all of those people nailed to the wooden crosses waiting for death to take hold.
I mean, what does one say when a cross bearer sneezes?
“Gesundheit”! Which basically means, stay fit and healthy in German. I can’t imagine that being appropriate to someone nailed to the cross and catching a cold or flu?
This may have been a subject the local villagers experienced asking about in their own Sunday morning Mass with the cities Clergymen through their local church. Exactly what should we tell all those people as we move by them every day.
The Clergyman being of bright mind compared to the villagers didn’t hesitate in his response knowing totally well the majority of the individuals on those death crosses are of Jewish decent.
His input may well have gone in this type of fashion. I would consider a sincere “ God Bless You ” along with a friendly big smile with a cheerful attitude may supply the cross bearer some form of hope that all might turn out just fine and dandy for him at the end.
And possibly that is why many of us say “ God Bless You ” with great enthusiasm and spirit to those of ill health and fitness. What ever the explanation could possibly be, I make certain I’m never alone when I get a sneeze attack.
